F is for Free

I feel like I've gotten past the the plateau that I had hit with my dancing. I'm finally reaching the point where I've got enough technique and familiarity with solo jazz movement that I can just dance.  And that feeling is absolutely freeing.  I'm not spending every moment on the dance floor thinking about how to move, it just happens.  It doesn't always happen well but that can be fun too.  I've still got plenty to work on in my dancing but for now, I'm happy.  I'm swinging out and I feel free.

  1. I admire anyone who learns to dance like that. It sounds like a freeing feeling. Keep having fun!

  5. I once attempted to learn swing dancing - I was halfway decent at it, but I lost my dancing partner at some point and then lost my desire to learn it.

It's not as fun if you don't have a partner (swing dancing, anyway).

  9. No matter how many dances I played as a drummer in a band I never learned to dance. Can't dance to this day. Sure miss playing at dances however. Makes me want to go out and buy another set of drums.

  10. My hubby and I have talked about swing dancing lessons or maybe Salsa - maybe it is time to do more than talk about it. You make it sound wonderful!
